Exciting opportunity for Shropshire tennis fans to be part of the volunteer team at LTA’s summer events

Shropshire tennis fans have an exciting opportunity to be part of the volunteer events team at a host of popular grass-court tournaments in England this summer.

The LTA has opened the volunteer application process for the Rothesay Classic at Birmingham's Edgbaston Priory Club between June 1-8, as well as the Lexus Ilkley Open, cinch Championships at Queen's Club in London, the Rothesay Open at Nottingham, Rothesay International at Eastbourne and Lexus British Open at Roehampton.

Keen to build on the success of last year's expanded volunteer programme, the LTA is looking to further grow the team with the addition of more spectator services volunteers aged 18 and over in 2025.

It's a chance for people who love tennis to get up close to the action, gain unique experiences, and play an essential role in delivering world-class tennis events.

Tennis Shropshire chair Fiona Jones said: “There's a lot of top players coming to play at these prestigious events this summer.

"This is a great opportunity for anyone who is a tennis fan to get more involved in the sport and experience what it's like to be a volunteer at a leading grass-court tournament."

Volunteering provides experience through working at tennis events and can add valuable experience to people's CVs.

Specific training for roles is provided, with volunteers able to take home their tournament branded uniform.

It also offers the chance to have fun and connect with like-minded people, and to also enjoy lunch and refreshments provided on site each day.
